Other Fundraisers
The Betty Webb Organization (BWO) raises funds that go directly to student-related projects such as classroom supplies or playground equipment. The lower school playground equipment, lighting and sound in the auditorium, pads in the gymnasium, the printing press in the art studio and numerous other projects were funded by the efforts of the BWO. The BWO raises funds through either one or two fundraisers (including a major benefit in the spring) each year.
There are a variety of ways to participate in the advancement of Foothill Country Day School -- contributions of time, talent and financial support are all greatly appreciated and they are the primary reasons that Foothill is such an outstanding institution. When you are asked to participate, please try to do so.
Endowment gifts are placed in restricted funds from which only the investment income may be spent. An endowment fund strengthens a school by providing long-term stability and flexibility. Gifts to the endowment are permanent assets of the school. The principal of the endowment is invested and the income from this investment enables a school like Foothill to prudently plan for long-term needs and improvements. An educational endowment is akin to a perpetual investment account funded by gifts of cash, securities and /or real estate from generous parents, alumni, and friends. All endowment investments are managed professionally in a diversified portfolio.
Goodsearch There is a new way to support Foothill Country Day School without paying a cent. Goodsearch.com is a search engine, powered by Yahoo, which donates half its revenue – about one penny per search – to charities its users designate. Foothill is now officially registered as one of its approved charities. The new search engine was featured in Oprah Magazine and The New York Times and on ABC News. All you have to do is click on this link-- www.goodsearch.com -- and enter Foothill Country Day School as the charity you want to support. You can really start those pennies rolling in by downloading the Goodsearch toolbar and installing it in your browser. Then just hit the Goodsearch button on your page every time you need a search engine and help Foothill earn money at the same time. If 500 of us search the Internet four times a day using Goodsearch, the school will earn $7,300 in a year! Remember, there is no cost to you, and your email addresses will not be shared with anyone else.
